EnergyWeek South Africa
EnergyWeek South Africa is an annual meeting taking place from 11-12 December in Cape Town to discuss the progress of energy projects in Southern Africa. Alongside the Southern Africa Renewable Energy Summit will be the International Gas Cooperation Summit and the Black Industrialists Energy Summit. These three meetings will collectively explore opportunities for gas and renewable energy project development and local capacity building in the region.
The International Gas Cooperation Summit
This meeting is a platform to explore South Africa’s aspirations to build an energy hub for gas cooperation with international partners along the gas value chain. The Summit will put the objectives of South Africa and the region at the forefront of international gas development, showcasing South Africa as a gas hub. IGCS will outline the next steps of the Gas IPP Programme and the scale of opportunity for investors.
IGCS will showcase gas procurement and utilisation strategies, bringing together a global gathering of energy leaders who will enable Southern Africa to achieve its objectives in becoming an energy hub for the region. This meeting is co-located with the Southern Africa Renewable Energy Summit and the Black Industrialists Energy Summit.
Black Industrialists Energy Summit
In alignment with the Black Industrialist Programme led by the Department of Trade and Industry, the ‘Black Industrialist Energy Summit’ is hosted under the theme “Leveraging the power of diversity for long-term economic growth and sustainability”.
BIES offers a transparent environment for discussions and will address the practical steps of implementing a successful Black Industrialist Programme. It will provide insights on the direction of Black enterprise development and South Africa’s industrial sector.
What is the government strategy to achieve growth and global competitiveness of Black- owned businesses? What is expected of the Black Industrialist Programme participants? How will Africa’s industrialists create value, employment, revenue and innovation across the energy value-chain?
